Meno Mix tape Vol. 2 Managing Stress

Meno Tip

Menopause and midlife can be a stressful time. Not only does our body change, but life is changing all around us. There are a number of shifts we may have to manage, like:

  • Coping with health concerns or illness

  • Preparing to retire

  • Caregiving for parents

  • Changing marital status

  • Kids leaving or moving back in

  • More responsibility at work

Managing stress becomes incredibly important. There is a lot of talk about self-care and many women don’t think they have time to fit it in. There is a simple technique that you already do every day. BREATHING. Your breath can help you to manage stress. It’s free. You already know how to do it. You just have to pause and be intentional with a practice in order to help manage your body and stress response. Try this out. Like, right now. Just stop multitasking and do this for 1 minute. Breath in for a count of 4. Hold your breath for a count of 4. Exhale for a count of 4. Hold your exhale for a count of 4. Repeat. Repeat again. Ahhhhhh. Hopefully you are feeling a little calmer. You can do this anytime.

Quote of the Week

Whatever you focus your attention on grows, so with this in mind, why not start ignoring all the things that bring you down and start focusing instead on the stuff that charges you up from the inside out, the things you truly love.

Fun Fact

May is Osteoporosis and Bone Health Awareness Month. Bone health is so important for our overall wellness.

Several factors can influence bone health in middle-aged women, including:

  • Age: Bone density naturally tends to decrease with age.

  • Menopause: The decline in estrogen levels during and after menopause is a primary driver of bone loss. The time since menopause is a significant factor.

  • Family History: A family history of osteoporosis can increase an individual's risk.

  • Lifestyle Factors: Sunlight exposure (for Vitamin D production), diet, and physical activity levels also play crucial roles.

What can we do to help prevent bone loss?

  • Limit alcohol

  • Eat a balanced diet

  • Walk

  • Lift weights

My Mix

This playlist I created recently. It has become part of my morning ritual to listen to this as a way to step into my day being open and aware to the gifts that are around me. There are messages each song gives me so that I have the confidence to be my most authentic self and to stay focus on my goals. Do you have song or playlist that you listen to that inspires you? If so, please share it with me.

Wishing you a wonderful week. Thank you, as always, for being a part of this community and for your support.

XO,

Stephanie
